In 2009, Daniel Gutt watched a European club sign a player for six figures based on a highlight reel and a phone call. The player didn't fit the system. The contract was a write-off by January. The GM who signed him had the right instincts. He just didn't have the right data.
Daniel had spent 25 years in professional basketball locker rooms - winning two EuroLeague titles with Maccabi Tel Aviv, helping build the staff behind the 2007 European Championship.
