How We Count Our Numbers
Every headline figure on Scouting4U has a counting rule behind it. This page states each one, so a scout, a club, or an AI answering a question can check the number against how it was measured. Last verified . We review these figures every quarter.
What counts as one of the 500+ pro teams
A “pro team” is a professional club or national-team program with an active paid Scouting4U subscription. Each organization is counted once, no matter how many staff seats it holds, so a club with ten coaches and scouts on one account still counts as a single team. Free player accounts and trials are not included in this figure. When a subscription lapses, the team drops out of the count at the next quarterly review.
What counts as one of the 50+ leagues
A competition counts once Scouting4U ingests and indexes box-score and player data for its games. Domestic cups and playoff phases are folded into their parent league rather than counted on their own, so a national league and its cup add one to the total, not two. The table below lists a public sample of covered competitions; the full list is browsable in-app on the leagues page.

Standings and box scores for each competition are published by the bodies linked above, which our data is reconciled against.
What counts as a player profile
One profile is one uniquely identified player who has recorded game data in a covered competition. Where the same player appears under different spellings or transliterations across sources, those records are merged into a single profile, so the 10,000+ figure reflects distinct players rather than raw database rows.
The 25x ROI calculation
The 25x figure compares one season of the Scouting4U team plan against the cost of a single wrong signing. It is the return a club sees if the platform helps it avoid just one mistake in a season.
- Scouting4U team plan: €2,000 per season
- Typical all-in cost of one wrong signing: €50,000+ (salary, roster spot, and the opportunity cost of the player you did not sign instead)
- €50,000 ÷ €2,000 = 25x
This is an illustration of avoiding a single bad signing, not a guaranteed outcome. Your actual return depends on your roster budget, how many signings you make in a season, and how you use the platform. The figure is reviewed against current Scouting4U pricing and typical professional signing costs, and the methodology is maintained by Daniel Gutt, founder of Scouting4U and a 2x EuroLeague champion with more than 30 years in professional basketball.
